Benimaru Itoh is an artist that wrote and drew the Star Fox comics published in the Nintendo Power magazine. The last panel of some strips say these words: "Story & Artwork by Benimaru Itoh".
Those comics explained most of the story of the first game, Star Fox. It also introduced a new character to the Starfox universe: Fara Phoenix. It resumed Fox McCloud's early life, and his motivations, and Andross' as well. However, the comics are non-canon since the entire storyline was remade in Star Fox 64.
His name also appears in the Star Fox 64 credits, in the special thanks section. He is also referred as "source modeling chief: Pokémon Stadium", and as "original game staff" during the credits of Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64.
