As a mushroom, it's unable to move, but it's able to emit poisonous spores that will hurt Fox if he's nearby. Even though it's invincible, it can be stunned with a shot from the Fire Blaster, allowing Fox to pass by without getting hurt. But because the spores only affect a very small area around the fungus, it's best to just walk around it while keeping a distance.
