Nintendo 3DS is regarded as the true technological successor to the Nintendo DS portable system. The system's most notable feature is that the top of its dual-screen layout can display video game graphics in stereoscopic three-dimensional visualization, without the need for any special glasses - a process known as autostereoscopy.

The console will be released on February 26, 2011 in Japan, and sometime before the end of March 2011 in the rest of the world.
